Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Ep. 13: Inclusion, Equality, and Progress

Ep. 13: Inclusion, Equality, and Progress

Kate and Yoko chat with Andy Chen, founder of and partner at Isometric Studio, about promoting inclusion, equality, and progress; advice from mom; and his preferred bubble tea/boba order (see below for spoilers on that). Also, our thoughts on sukajan.

Find Andy on Facebook, and also be sure to check out Isometric on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Show Notes

Yoko’s model minority is Jonathan Sun who, while having a BUNCH of other impressive academic and professional credentials, runs the popular Twitter account @jonnysun, a weirdo alien confused about humans and human language.

Kate’s model minority is Laura Izumikawa or @lauraiz, a mom who is able to to deftly dress up her sleeping baby in a bunch of different costumes (above, Tina Turner).

We’ve been seeing a lot of these sukajan jackets, relics of US military men commemorating the times they served in Japan, resurfacing as a new fashion trend, and we feel weird about that.

Did you know that there are a TON of other things you can mix into boba/bubble tea that aren’t tapioca balls? Andy’s preferred add-ons are the aloe and herbal/grass jelly.
